Well, that’s exactly how I felt this morning. I was sitting at my computer when my Facebook app started crashing. I checked my app settings, and the crash report had no error messages. There was no error message I could see. The only thing left was a “failed to start session”. Which is the end of that.

If you use Facebook Platform you can get rid of that crash report if you click on the app name.
The problem is that the Facebook Platform is actually old and buggy. The developers of the Facebook Platform apparently have no intention of fixing it, so the Facebook Platform will continue to crash even after you get rid of it.

It has no support for cookies, it doesn’t handle authentication, it’s a little buggy, it’s not designed for smartphones, and it’s not designed for tablets. It has been around for a few years, but it’s not really updated for a few years. It’s a nightmare for developers. But this is where the new Facebook Platform comes in. I mean the only reason I use Facebook is to log in and see what my friends are doing, and they can see all my stuff and see it all by themselves.
